While serving as Engineer/Top Turret Gunner on B-24D 41-23745 'Katy Bug' on 18-Nov-1942 the aircraft sustained engine failure on two engines and attempted an emergency landing at Little Stukeley but struck a tree and crashed. 3 other crew members were killed. The aircraft was salvaged on 27-Nov-1942.

Little Stukeley, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE28, UK 18 November 1942 Killed when his aircraft sustained engine failure on two engines and crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Little Stukeley and struck a tree.

Buried

Originally buried at Brookwood cemetery but after the war his remains were repatriated to the United States and re-interred at Arlington National Cemetery, Lot 14, Grave 73.
