Dan Hagarty from Los Angeles CA served his initial combat assignment as F/O and Co-Pilot in the original 381st Bomb Group's Capt. Ohl Crew and later got his own crew. Subsequently as a pilot with the 78th Fighter Group, he was shot down on 12 May 1944 and became a Prisoner of War (POW). He was held in Stalag Luft III.
