"8-Nov-44 missile knocked out left engine, caused vibrations, knocking out one radio. A short while later, lost the right engine. Could not keep up with the group. Lost altitude, but made it back to the English Channel at about 5000 ft. 2 x British Spitfires met us and escorted us to their base."
