12 December 1942 sub pen at Rouen France. My grandfather was tail end Charlie onboard the 'Wahoo'. Was strafed from below by enemy aircraft. Left .50 gun destroyed. Left wrist, leg and head hit by cannon; badly wounded. Destroyed same E/A. He flew on Lt. Robert P. Riordan crew. Stationed at Thurleigh from Sept 1942-Dec 1942.
