Ran out of fuel on return from a mission on 20 Feb 1944 in B-24J #42-100285 and crash landed at Woodlands Farm, Holbrook, Suffolk. He returned to duty.



Attacked by fighters en route and on the return from a mission to Brunswick, Germany, on 15 Mar 1944, B-24H #42-52332 "My Ass' Am Dragon", finally crashed near Den Hulst, Holland after most of the crew bailed out. Killed in Action (KIA).
