On return from operations on 13 Feb 1944, B-24J #42-42-100185 'Hmm, Whdda Gal' landed on one wheel with the No 4 engine on fire. Fire was extinquished. RTD. Shot down by fighters on return from a mission to Gotha, GR on 24 Feb 1944 in B-24J #42-100338. Prisoner of War (POW).
