1st Lieutenant Charles W. Freschauf was born on November 10, 1917, and was the son of Bernard and Gertrude Freschauf. His hometown was David City, Nebraska.
He was the copilot of “Jersey Bounce,” B-17 tail #42-24515, of the 91st Bomb Group, 324th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over the North Sea on return from a mission to Wilhelmshaven on May 21, 1943.
His remains were never recovered.
