Serial Number: O 691870 Rank: Second Lieutenant ****** Charles W. Bidgood, Jr., age 73, passed away Friday, August 27, 1993 at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, Illinois. He was born in Joliet and a resident of Homewood, Illinois for several years. Charles was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran. He served with the 8th Air Force 2nd Division #466 Bomb Group. During his service, he spent 13 months as a Prisoner of War. He was a member of the Caterpillar Club and he retired as a load dispatcher following 38 years with Commonwealth Edison. Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Homewood. He and his wife were former members of The Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus in Joliet. Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marguerite (Clark) Bidgood of Homewood; one son, Chuck of Joliet; his grandchildren, Steven of Sacramento, California and Ronald of Antioch, California. He is also survived by his mother, Hermie Bidgood of Joliet; one sister, Jean (Ken) Carlson of Bradley, Illinois; one brother, Jack (Lorraine) Bidgood of Plainfield, Illinois. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
