Lt. Frederico Gonzales, Co-Pilot, Lt. Jack E. Kutchback, Bombardier and 1st Lt. Charles E. Khourie of the 603rd Bomb Squadron of the 398th Bomb Group.
Charles E Khourie was born in Ohio in 1921. His parents, Adeeb and Emily had moved to America from Syria in 1920 with Charles' older siblings. He grew up in Columbus where his father and uncle ran the Khourie's Direct Importers store on S High Street.
He served as a co-pilot with the 398th Bomb Group. His crew arrived arrived at Nuthampstead on 6 August 1944.
On 27 September 1944, Khourie became a 603rd Bomb Squadron Flight Commander.
On 15 October 1944, he was Killed in Action when his aircraft crashed on takeoff into the Anstey moat. He was later buried at Arlington Cemetery.
