Cisterna, Italy | 29 February 1944 | As they were exiting the target area, Doughty A-20B #41-3364 took a direct flak hit in the auxillary fuel tank, causing it to catch fire, flip over and then lose it's right wing. The gunners were able to bail out, however Doughty was not able to get out of the aircraft before it impacted the ground. |
