Jack Alberty
MilitaryHe registered for the WW II draft on 29 June 1942, and he was listed as an employee of the Nu-Way Cleaners, Oklahoma City. He was 5' 11" tall; weighed 165 pounds; had brown hair, brown eyes and a 'dark' complexion. The service number appearing on the orders we have is not listed in the NARA data base. The VA BIRLS file however, indicates he entered the service on 09 November 1942 and was released from active duty on 22 September 1945.
We have him listed on the 437th TCG Special Orders #195, dated 27 December 1943; these were the orders generated at Pope Field (Fort Bragg, NC) for the first phase of movement by air and by rail of the 437th personnel to their eventual overseas deployment.
