Bryson was Dishonourably Discharged and sentenced to 5 years hard labour for killing Cyril Easto, a garage hand in Diss on 1 May 1943.



Bryson alleged that Easto had sexually assaulted him while returning from the pub, and that he had cut his throat in self defense.
