A bomber crew of the 91st Bomb Group with their B-17G serial 43-37993 "Mah Ideel" (coded DF-N) of the 324th Bomb Squadron. The aircraft had earlier served with the 401st Bomb Squadron (coded LL-U). Sam Halpert, a veteran of the 91st Bomb Group has signed the image: 'To Roger Freeman, with appreciation. October 2003.'

Hutton was Radio/Operator Gunner with the 324th Squadron 91st Bomber Group and flew 30 combat missions during the Second World War.
Afterwards he taught in Nebraska for seven years and then at Pine Hill School for Boys in Montana for the next 25 years retiring as Assistant Superintendent. He died June 14th 2003 being survived by his wife Mary and their three children.
