Alfred Randolph Garnett

Received his medical degree from the Virginia University in 1940. Garnett's first residency was in 1941 at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C.
During World War II, Garnett served as a flight surgeon with the 8th Air Force, based at Shrewsbury, England. Assigned to 55FG, 8AF USAAF.
Awards: WWII Victory, EAME.
Post War: He served his 2nd residency in 1949 in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Woman's Hospital of the State of New York in New York City.
After the war, he began a private practice in Norfolk in obstetrics and gynaecology. In November 1981, he retired from private practice and joined the staff of Obstetrical and Gynaecological Associates of Tidewater. At one time, Garnett was considered one of the top-ranking sailors of pleasure craft on the Chesapeake Bay, where his boat "Old Fox Trot" won many trophies.
