Harold Zola

Military

Harold Zola served as a flight engineer/top turret gunner with the 598th Bomb Squadron of the 397th Bomb Group. On 1 August 1944, his B-26 #43-34126 "By Golly" was shot down and crashed near Angers, France. Harold was taken as a Prisoner of War and was held at Stalag Luft IV.
