Captain Thomas E Persinger was First Lieutenant, Operations and Engineering officer August 1941- August 1942 . He went on to Lakeland Florida and then moved to No 5 British Flying Training School at Clewiston from the beginning of the school in November 1942. He became Commanding Officer of the 70th Flying Training Detachment in 1943 at Layfayette Primary, LA, and later served at the Chinese Primary School in Lahore, India.



He completed his B-25 training in the CBI theatre and during the Korean War was Commander and Wing Operations Officer of 34th Bomb Squadron.



While based at Clewiston, Captain Persinger encouraged the decision to absorb American servicemen with the RAF students to balance the Lend-Lease account between the USA and the UK.



Captain Persinger autographed the 5 BFTS anniversary book.
