Native of Pennsylvania, he worked for a rubber company until the outbreak of WWII, when he enlisted with the USAAC and was assigned as the ball turret gunner on the 'Belle'. The 'Belle' and her crew would ultimately become the first to fly all of it's required twenty-five missions in the European theater and were sent back to the United States for a war bond tour with their aircraft. The crew completed it's 25 missions on 17-May-43. The planes last mission was flown on 19-May-43.
Awards: DFC, AM (3OLC), WWII Victory, EAME.
Post war: Took a job with the Ford Motor Company, which he held for thirty years.
