Walla Walla, WA 99362, USA 27 December 1973 He died when the twin-engine airplane he was piloting crashed and burned near the Walla Walla City-County Airport. He was a corporate pilot for American Sign and Indicator Company and was flying from Spokane to Walla Walla to pick up two passengers to take to Seattle. He enlisted in the Army in May, 1939, and was a pilot in the Army Air Force during World War II and continued as the Air Force became a separate service. He retired as a Major. He held a triple rating (pilot, navigator, observer) and was an airplane commander of a Strategic Air Command bomber. His first wife Bobbie Jo died while they were in El Paso. In 1960 he married Patricia. They were later divorced. In, 1970, he married Margaret who survives him. Also surviving him are two sons, three daughters, three stepsons, and three grandchildren.
