Ernest Lee Bradley

Killed in action, 25 JANUARY 1945 on a "softening up" mission over Iwo Jima. Ack-ack prematurely detonated bomb they had just dropped, under the belly of the plane (The Bird of Paradise). Ernest was wounded in the leg. The plane limped back to Saipan but when the flaps were down, went into the sea on its right wing. Three members of the crew were killed, including Ernest. 8 survived.
