Robert Eugene Smith

Military

Flew with the 16th Fighter Squadron, 23rd Fighter Group in China in 1942. Pilot of P-40E-1 "KatyDid"; credited with four aerial victories. Later transferred to the 394th Fighter Squadron, 367th Fighter Group in England. Shot down by flak on 22 June 1944. DFC, AM & 2 OLCs, PH.
