Dateland, AZ 85333, USA 23 March 1950 Lieutenant Shepherd was the Bombadier aboard U.S. Air Force B-50 Superfortress #46-0020 of the 43rd Bomb Group. He perished when the bomber spirled out of control and crashed to the desert floor near Hyder, Arizona (West of Gila Bend) after departing Davis-Monthan Air Force Base near Tucson on a training flight.
