On 21-Sep-43 while serving as Navigator of B-26B 41-31721 387BG/559BS the aircraft sustained damage from AA fire while attacking the German airfield of Beauvais/Tille, France. 1LT Rosa an the rest of the crew were able to bale out of the stricken aircraft before it crashed about two miles northwest of the target. He and 4 others were captured as Prisoners of War (POW) 2 evaded capture.
