Assigned to 67BS, 44BG, 8AF USAAF. Flew as bombardier on mission to V-1 sites at Agathe d' Aliermont, France 21-Jan-44; A/C hit by flak, wounded, he released as many bombs as possible from the damaged bomb bay manually, before collapsing on the flight deck. Unconscious, he subsequently became trapped in the belly landing and suffocated before being released by the crash crew. Killed in Action (KIA). MACR 8714
