Winston Lowe was a Right Waist gunner in the 94th Bomb Group / 410th Bomb Squadron. Shot down in B-24 # 42-29710 on the 29 May 1943 mission to naval depots in Rennes, France. Prisoner of War (POW). Wounded, he was part of a prisoner exchange program for sick and wounded servicemen. He sailed from Europe on the M/S “Gripsholm” and arrived on 21 February 1945 in New York. He was cared for at the Halloran General Hospital at Staten Island, New York and was honorably discharged.
