Killed In Action when his a/c, B-24H-10-DT #41-28752 "Shoo Shoo Baby" crashed in a field off the end of Runway 27 near Hockering Heath. It appears that Goodwin was flying this mission as a replacement navigator with the Vogel Crew (Crew #529) to possibly catch up with his own crew (Meyer Crew - Crew #538) who finished their tour 4 days later.
