William L Eubank
MilitaryWhile serving as Navigator of B-17F #41-24494 on 9 November 1942, his aircraft was assigned to bomb the U-Boat pens at St. Nazaire, France. On return, the aircraft overshot the runway at Portreath and crashed into field beyond runway. 2Lt Eubank was thrown through the nose of the plane, but was only shaken up and returned to action. RTD
