Object Number - UPL 25684 - Lt Carroll Bracy and crew of 493rd Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, beside their Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, 5th November 1944, England.
They were the first known crew to fly this aircraft after its arrival at Debach Aug 1944 and Lt Carroll Bracy, with the crew' permission and encouragement, named her “Little Davey II” after his first born son, having named his previous command, a B-24 Liberator, “Little Davey”. This crew flew a total of 35 missions, over France & Germany, 11 missions were completed in "Little Davey II".
At Lt Bracy's request, the name was removed from the aircraft when he completed his tour of duty on 30th November 1944.
