William David Lofton Jr
MilitaryMost memorable action was Schweinfurt raids, 14 October 1943 and 24 Feb 1944. Could not believe the number and variety of aircraft that attacked the front of his plane, "Baby Dumpling". Most enjoyable memory was a tour of London by John Steinbeck after the October 1943 Schweinfurt raid.
Presidential Unit Citation, ETO Medal, DFC, Ar Medal w/3 Oak leaf clusters
