Prisoner of War (POW). Baled out on Sept. 27, 1943 returning from mission to Beauvais/ Tille airfield in B-26B 41-31666 'Wuneach'. The was hit by flak over target then attacked by fighters just before the coast setting the bomb bay on fire. The other 5 crewmen stayed with the aircraft and chrashlanded, wheels-up, at Chipping Ongar.
