His nickname was "Ginn", but he was also known as "Big Sack", referring to the amount of sleep or "sack time" he got while in England.



Completed tour of duty September 12, 1944. His hometown was originally called Base Line, MI, but was incorporated into Warren, Michigan.



His awards were: Distinguished Flying Cross with 4 Bronze Stars, EAME Service Ribbon, Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Distinguished Unit Badge, 1 O/S (Overseas) Service Bar, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal WWII.
