He was killed when making a landing in England after he was forced to turn back as engine trouble developed. He was born in Greenfield and was graduated from the Greenfield high school in 1941. He was a student at Butler university when he entered the U.S. Air Corpps December 9, 1942. He was graduated from Freeman Field, Seymour, and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the fall of 1944. He went overseas in November of 1944. He was married to miss Jane Russell. They had a daughter, Margaret Ann.
