Warren J Geron
Military ROLL OF HONOURKIS, Obituary -- J.W. Geron, 1st Lt. J Warren Geron,22, met death as a result of a airplane crash over England on July 23, according to a War Dept telegram received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A J Geron, South Charleston, Rt 1. The message revealed no details of the crash. A graduate of Plattsburg high school class of 1940, Lt. Geron entered the service July 29, 1943. Following initial training at Kessler Field, Miss. He was stationed at Blackland Field, Waco, Texas., where he received his wings in May 1944. He trained as a bomber pilot at Pueblo, Colorado and went overseas in Oct. 1944 being stationed in England. Lt Geron had 35 missions on a B24 Bomber to his credit, in addition to pilot service on a B 51 Mustang. In addition to his parents he is survived by one sister, Ann.
During a dive bombing practice mission at Little Walden, he was skilled when his airplane crashed near the base.
