Rammed by enemy aircraft in B-17 'The Towering Titan' #4338085. Landed by parachute in Biensdorf, GER. Arrested by SS; interrogated, ill-treated and shot after having to dig his own grave. After WW2 disinterred and reburied in the Burkhardswalde cemetery. In September 2008, exhumed and transferred to Hawaii for identification. Burial with full military honors Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL, on 23rd April 2010.
