On his 14th mission from Podington the aircraft caught fire and they bailed out.(Prisoner of War (POW) Crashed at Krolsheim on 2/25/45 in B-17 Reba Jean #4339026) He was sent to Stalag 3A at Nuremburg '50-60 of us in double-bunked barracks with no heat'. They were marched westward as the Allies advanced and were liberated by Patton' s tanks. He afterwards worked at a tractor plant and then became a barber.
