Captain Thomas T. Galloway was born September 5, 1919. His next of kin were his wife, Margaret A. Galloway, and his son, Thomas T. Galloway, Jr. His father-in-law was Major General Edward M. Almond. His hometown was Towson, Maryland. He is a graduate of The United States Military Academy class of 1942.
While flying a combat mission aboard P-38 tail #44-23172 of the 479th Fighter Group, 436th Fighter Squadron on July 24, 1944, while engaging enemy fire, his wingman broke formation and collided with his 'Lightning' over Irai, France.
He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
