1st Lieutenant Thomas F. McNichol was born December 21, 1914. His next of kin were his mother, Martha McNichol, and his sister, Mrs. James H. Stewart. He was from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

On April 11, 1944, he was the Pilot of B-24 tail 42-52754 of the 392nd Bomb Group, 577th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over the North Sea outbound on a mission to Bernburg, Germany. All 11 men aboard were lost.

His remains were never recovered.
