Shot down 28 May 1944 in B-17 42-37806 'Stark's Ark', Prisoner of War. Escaped while on a transfer from camp to another and Evaded until he ran into Patton's Tanks and they took him to Paris. 2 weeks later the war ended. Sergeant. Sanders was a full blooded Cherokee Indian.



Awards: POW, Air Medal, EAME Ribbon w 1 bronze star and Air Medal w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster
