Attlebridge, Norwich, Norfolk NR9, UK 22 March 1944 - 29 June 1944 "After a mission where crews were lost we talked about our missing friends at mess or in the officer's club, and it was always depressing. " "I guess our happiest times were riding our bikes to different village pubs for "stout", fellowship and some off key singing. One time several of us became lost on the way back to base from one of our "pub tours", so we stopped at a darkened pub (it was pretty late) to ask directions. After pounding on the pub door a bloke in a nightshirt appeared in an upstairs window and emptied the chamber pot all over us! We all thought it was pretty funny."
