Shot down 2 December 1944 in B-24 42-50805.

He was a prisoner of war of the German government from December 2, 1944 to June 12, 1945 in Stalag Luft 1 North Compound.

Germany 2 December 1944 Flight Officer Richfertig had only the notation of “EUS” beside his name on the MACR, indicating that he survived and was returned to the US. He was a prisoner of war of the German government from December 2, 1944 to June 12, 1945 in Stalag Luft 1 North Compound.
