Assigned to 336FS, 4FG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) freelance mission to Praha Area, A/C struck by flak while strafing Pilsen Airdrome. Losing glycol, A/C P-51D 44-14387 abandoned after entering an uncontrollable dive to starboard. Lt Davis baled out and seen to to land safely, making for a nearby wooded hill, died later that day, cause unknown. KIA. 17-Apr-45. MACR 13922.
