Robert M Brackbill
MilitaryFlew two missions over Berlin. 06 March,'44, FW-190's and ME-109s attacked on the way home, heaviest being in region of Nienburg to Drummer Lake. In close attack they used swooper, scissors, roller-coaster, double ques, and triple threats tactics. At one point our B-17 was hit by a cannon that came up behind the pilot and co-pilot and must have gone between my legs. We made it back to Deopham Green with 150 flak and bullet holes.
Bronze Star Medal, Unit Citation, EAME Theatre Ribbon with 6 Battle Stars
