Robert Lee Seng was dedicated to the Air Force, loved to be up in a plane and served proudly for 24 years. He served in WWII, and Korea. He kept the memories alive by sharing the stories with family and friends for many years. He lived to be 90 years old, and two weeks before he died he was honored on veterans day in his home and was able to give a salute for the last time.



He retired from the USAF with the rank of Lt. Colonel in 1966 after flying combat missions in WW2 and Korea

Garden City, ID, USA 27 November 2014 Robert Lee Seng (Ltc ret), age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Garden City, Idaho of natural causes on Thursday, November 27, 2014 Robert was born 15 June 1924 in Jansen, Nebraska. First of two children and only son born to Freda Harder and Frank Seng. He and little sister Dolores were raised in Jansen and Beatrice surrounded by a large extended family. He attended schools in Beatrice and then joined the army air corps. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Gillett, who was the love of his life. Bob made the military a career for 24 years. During WWII, he served in B24's for the illustrious 8th air force out of England as a navigator/ bombardier. He served in B29's in Korea. He retired from the Air Force in 1966 as a Lt Col and Master Navigator After the Air Force he was a postal carrier for the US Post Office for many years in Boise.. He and Shirley had three sons that were their pride and joy; Robert Jr, Thomas, and Michael. He loved to build model airplanes and fly them. He had an attention for detail and became a master builder. He was an accomplished painter and leaves behind many beautiful canvases that are cherished by family members. He was a gardener, a wood worker, and could repair most anything. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and shared many adventures with them. Bob was recently honored for Veterans Day and was very proud of his military service. He lived a full rich life surrounded by family.
