Captain Robert L. Hills was an ex-RAF Eagle Squadron pilot.
He destroyed a Ju 88 and an Fw 190 on 11 April 1944 during a strafing attack on an airfield southeast of Stettin.
He completed his tour in the USAAF 4th Fighter Group on 14 September 1944 with three strafing victories to his credit.
He had been Commanding Officer of "D" Flight.
