MilitaryIn Mar. 1942 activated into 8th AAF at National Guard Armory located at Park & Bull in Savannah, Ga under the command of Gen. Tooey Spaatz. Deployed to England on The Queen Elizabeth with 15,000 Americans in June 1942. I served under the command of Generals Eaker, Doolittle and Kepner. During that time I received a special invitation for christmas dinner from King George of England (included in my personal memorabilia) which took place in the castle at Teddington, England
