Redding, CA, USA | 5 September 1965 | Buell Elwyn Andrus, 46 of Redding California , a former HOMER resident passed away early Sunday morning following a heart attack at his home. He was born May 6, 1919 the Son of Albert and Grace [WEISS] Andrus. He moved to Adrian, Michigan with his parents as a young boy and graduated from Adrian High School. He served in the US. AIR FORCE during World War II, where he obtained the rank of Captain and he was a pilot. He has been attending an Officers Training School in Chico, California. In 1943 he married Miss Dorothy Richardson and for the past 15 years they have lived in Oregon and California. They recently owned and operated a Rest Home in Redding. |

I have added nickname, Bill. Buell is my father-in-law. I am married to his oldest daughter, Sharron. Bill was the best father-in-law I could have asked for. He treated me like a son. His daughter worshiped him and to this day, 50 years after his sudden death from a heart attack, she is still devastated. He died 4 days after his first grandchild was born, our oldest son, and never saw him. We are sad today, still, that Bill didn't get to share the joy we've had with our kids.
