Shot down 24 April 1944 in B-17 #4230586. Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft 3 Sagan-Silesia Bavaria (Moved to Nuremberg-Langwasser) 49-11. He was shot down on his 6th mission. Flew on Robert McDowell crew. He joined the group in January 1944.

Post war he was plant manager for St Mary's Cement Co and a graduate of the University of Illinois.
