Returned from operations and crash landed in Carpetbaggers mission in ac 42-50584 on August 6/7, 1944.



Robert was recovered four weeks later by the American 3rd Armored division as they approached Mons, Belgium. He was assisted by a family in St. Aubins Nord, France while evading capture.
