2nd Lieutenant Robert A. Gallagher was born December 6, 1920. His next of kin was his mother, Stella F. Gallagher. He was from Far Rockaway, New York.



On September 9, 1944, he was piloting B-17 tail #42-102594, of the 390th Bomb Group, 570th Bomb Squadron, when it was shot down over Ennepe-Talsperre, Germany. Of the crew of nine on board, Lt Gallagher and three others were killed.



He is buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lawrence, New York.
