Dick Flew 37 missions; A proud member of the 351st/510th Heavy bomber Group,Polebrook, England.Missions to Berlin and the breakout for operation Cobra, the breakout of Normandy ( D Day) invasion . He also bombed during the battle of the bulge. Credited with shooting down one ME 109. Dick had completed his missions before is 20th birthday and was thought to be the youngest bombardier ( B-17 Heavy) to come home from 37 missions. He came home to Los Angeles and continued his education at the University of Southern California.
