Military ROLL OF HONOURCrashed on 7 October 1944 in AC 42-76177, and killed on 15 October 1944. On operational mission the airplane Lt. Roberts was flying was hit while strafing Fritzlar Airfield, Germany. He was forced to bail out approximately 12 miles nw of Marburg, Germany at less than 1000 ft. alt. His parachute was seen to open and German civilians approximately 1 mile away started towards the crash. Status: MI. 7 October 1944. Killed in Action (KIA) 15 October 1944.
